Whats Interesting About Linktree?
First, let me explain what piqued my interest in learning more about Linktree.
I’m not sure when I first heard about Linktree. But I know it was a long time before I began seriously considering the advantages and disadvantages of using Linktree.
Linkfree first appeared on the social media platform Instagram in 2016.
In the world of social media, Linktree appeared to be a cool, bright idea. However, as new social media tools and platforms emerge, there is always the question of “hmmm….I wonder if it will actually go anywhere or catch on?” Google Plus and the now-defunct “OMG, it’s going to be bigger and better than Instagram, Ello” come to mind….
Linktree’s Popularity
Then I noticed Linktree popping up everywhere on Instagram. “What the heck is that “linktr.ee/” link in her bio?” I wondered at first.
Click.
That’s right, Linktree!
After a while, I really began to do some research on Linktree. It was interesting to see what other bloggers and influencers had to say about it. Reading about the benefits and drawbacks (a.k.a. pros and cons).
Why Should You Consider Linktree
But it was when my daughter inquired about Linktree that I became convinced of its value for bloggers, marketers, content creators, and social media influencers.
“Is Linktree a good thing, Mom?”
As a mom who enjoys seeing her children’s critical thinking wheels turning (especially when it comes to technology and social media), I saw this as an opportunity to delve deeper into Linktree.
Should You Make Use of LinkTree? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Is Linktree beneficial? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Above all, should you use it?
Let’s get to work on it!
What exactly is Linktree?
Linktree is a tool that allows you to create a customizable landing page (with its own link), similar to a micro web page, that connects to all of your social media platforms or important links.
You can then share your Linktree link across all of your social media channels. For example, in your Instagram bio’s website field, copy and paste your Linktree link.
This gives your followers one-click access to all of the places they can find your content online.

How Does It Work?
Your Linktree link is clicked by your followers or readers. They will then be directed to your Linktree page, which will display individual links to whatever you have chosen to display, such as links to your blog or where to find you on Snapchat, Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube.
And presto! Your followers or readers can then go directly to that content by clicking on the individual links.
Linktree is available for free, or you can pay to unlock PRO features.
Best Linktree for Instagram: The Benefits and Drawbacks
The decision to use Linktree is entirely personal. Don’t worry if you decide not to use Linktree or if you change your mind. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages:
The Benefits of Linktree
Unless you choose PRO features, it is free.
You receive a single bio link that contains links to all of your content in one location.
It’s easy to create an account, configure your links, and copy and paste the Linktree link into your Instagram (or other social media) website field to share your content with your readers.
Allows you to add more than one “link” in Instagram’s bio, which currently only allows you to link to one website.
You get to see some interesting statistics. As in clicks. Wow, it appears that some of my followers are visiting my blog.
Because of the integration of Linktree and Amazon, you may be able to earn more money from affiliate links.
The Drawbacks of Linktree
The free version has limitations. To begin with. Backgrounds are limited. Stats are limited. You must retain the Linktree logo. The paid version, well, you have to pay for it.
You can easily create your own ‘landing page’ using wordpress, squarespace, or another blogging platform, and then include the link in your bio. By doing so, you direct traffic to your site rather than a “middleman” site that profits from your traffic. Because Linktree acts as an intermediary, you may lose clicks along the way because your readers may not continue to click through to your content after reaching Linktree.
There is growing concern that Instagram may flag some Linktree links as spam, rendering your bio link unclickable.
Some people believe that the appearance of Linktree can have a negative impact on your brand or the curb appeal of your business.
There are Alternatives to Linktree!
Linktree isn’t the only newcomer on the scene. Other sites with similar link capabilities and features include bio.fm and Tap Bio.

Conclusion
So, back to the question that piqued my interest.
Is Linktree beneficial?
I believe the Linktree concept is beneficial.
Actually, it’s a fantastic thing.
The idea of routing your readers or followers to a single location where they can easily find all of your social links or content is a pretty cool one. It’s especially important if you can only use one link in your bio, as Instagram allows.
